Remote Position

Synergis Technologies is looking for an Applications Consultant-SSD, responsible to fully implement Synergis data and document management solutions for Synergis clients throughout the world. The primary goal of the Application Consultant is to create for our customers significant value and ROI from their investment in Synergis data and document management solutions. The Application Consultant will be the primary technical Synergis resource for customer implementation projects, including providing pre and post implementation training, system installation and configuration, and support to assigned customers.

Founded in 1985, Synergis Technologies, LLC is headquartered in Bucks County, PA and is privately owned and funded. Our office is located in Quakertown, but we work remotely and plan to gather occasionally for team or company meetings.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible to learn at an expert level the Synergis data and document management solutions.
  • Attain an overview of each project from the project manager prior to engaging with any client. You are responsible for ensuring that you are fully prepared for all engagements.
  • Consult with clients to understand their as-is situation, requirements, goals, network infrastructure and topology, legacy data, CAD systems, and workflow processes to develop a solid implementation plan for the Synergis solution they invested in.
  • Document the as-is situation and write up the plan and recommendations in a client deliverable document.
  • Responsible to fully and successfully implement and configure the Synergis solution for the client, including server and client software installation, database configuration, metadata tracking, legacy data import, workflow setup, user, and group permissions and more. The implementation may be in local, wide area and internet topologies.
  • Deliver administrator and user training.
  • Communicate status of the implementation from the client site to the project manager at least three times per week.
  • Complete weekly timecards documenting actual time spent on projects and all other activities.
  • Complete and submit a travel expense report within two business days of any service engagement.
  • Communicate feedback from the client to the project manager and account manager.
  • Monitor project activities in line with project scope, and immediately communicating with the project manager any requests or situations which appear to be outside of the defined project scope.
  • Provide client feedback and your own feedback to the product management team about ways the product can be improved.
  • Provide feedback to the project manager about what went well and how things could have gone more smoothly, to ensure constant improvement.
  • Assist in other areas when not actively engaged in preparing for or delivering on a project. These areas may include software testing and logging of issues, sales support including technical discussions or demonstrations, and Helpdesk support, or as directed by Technical Manager.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • 3+ years administering, consulting, implementing, configuring, or supporting data and/or document management solutions, PDM, PLM or other enterprise software solutions strongly preferred.
  • Strong IT background a major plus
  • Background in 2D or 3D CAD a major plus
  • Industry experience in engineering, design or manufacturing a major plus.
  • Ability to create rapport quickly and build strong relationships.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required.
  • Strong presentation skills required.
  • Ability to remain calm and foster calm and trust in others in pressurized situations.
  • Character, drive and ambition to succeed.
  • College or technical degree preferred.
  • Proven record of over-achievement
  • Must have an ability to travel, for a week or two at a time.
  • Position requires local and national/international travel, as such a valid driver’s license and insured vehicle are required for the local travel to customer sites. Mileage will be reimbursed at the standard rate.
